Bracers of Defense
In D&D terms (2nd edition), these Bracers provide AC 4. For a medieval setting that would be equal to chain mail and shield. Or near the top a normal armor can provide.
The Bracers provide the wearer with magical protection that is comparable to sophisticate armor. It's also effective against handguns and other weapons.
