Rod of Lordly Might

The Rod of Lordly Might is a thick metal rod with a golden-flanged ball at one end and six studlike ruby buttons along its length.

The following powers can be used once a day:

• The wielder can attempt to freeze a human-like being in place (successful attack required)
• Summon a circle of fear with a radius of ten feet
• Attempt a vampiric attack, meaning that the bearers' wounds heal while the weapon causes damage to the foe (successful attack required)

In its normal form, the rod is comparable to a magic light mace. When the top button is pressed, the rod becomes a slightly enhanced sword of four feet. The blade itself is surrounded by hot fire that will actually burn anything the weapon hits. The second button will transform it into a very strongly enhanced battleaxe, while the third will turn it into a powerful spear with a length of between six and fifteen feet, that is also useable as lance. Button four will change it into a ladder, while button five will reverse this effect. Button six allows the bearer to determine where North is and tells him how far above or below the surface she is.
