Age: 35
Date of Birth: February 23, 1964
Origin:
For the first 33 years of her life, Dana Scully believed she had been born to William and Margaret Scully in Baltimore, Maryland. The third of four children, (elder brother William Jr., elder sister Melissa, younger brother Charles), Scully's life was that of a military brat, her father a Captain in the United States Navy. Growing up, Dana's relationship with her father was good; he even nicknamed her "Starbuck" after her favorite novel as a child, "Moby Dick."
After graduating from a Catholic High School, Dana enrolled in the University of Berkley, near the Alameda Naval Air Station, where her father was stationed. It was here that the first tensions between the two came up as Dana was involved with some political activist groups, particularly antinuclear protest groups (although, to be truthful, her involvement never went further than reading leaflets and the occasional heated discussions). Several arguments between Dana and her crisp, military-minded father pushed Scully to transfer to the University of Maryland and relationships with her father were cooled afterward.
Medical science had always interested Scully and she graduated with a medical degree and a residency in forensic pathology. She also had a B.S. in Physics, having even written a thesis on "Einstein's Twin Paradox." However, medicine was more Scully's forte, particularly forensic and pathology. Her relationship with the rest of her family still remained tense. Her father wasn't happy with her moving into medicine instead of a military-minded career like he had. Her brother William Jr. agreed with that sentiment. Dana's relationship with Melissa wasn't as best as she would have liked either as Melissa was getting more and more into various New Age and supernatural thinking that Scully disagreed with. Charles still gave his sister his full support, however.
In 1990, after graduating from medical school, Scully joined the FBI, against the wishes of her parents. She rose quickly through the ranks while sticking to the scientific side of things, with a two year teaching stint at Quantico. While in training, Scully developed an attraction to her instructor, Jack Willis and even had a brief affair with him. Realizing the danger of such a relationship, they broke it off and Scully's cool manner and hard work ethic soon led to her nickname among her classmates: "The Ice Queen."
In 1992, Scully received the assignment that would change her life. Called into the office of Section Chief Scott Blevins, Scully was informed that she was being reassigned to the X-Files, a section of the FBI that dealt with cases of unusual natures. Blevins told Scully that the FBI wanted the investigations to have a more scientific nature and wanted her to work with the agent in charge.
Traveling to the basement of the FBI, Scully met Fox Mulder and it didn't take long to realize that this wasn't going to be as easy as she thought. Mulder was suspicious of her from the start, even openly accusing her of being a spy for their superiors. During their first case, Mulder believed that a teenager's abduction had been the work of aliens, which Scully couldn't believe. When Mulder informed her of his belief that his sister had been abducted by aliens as a child, Scully wondered just what she had gotten herself into. ("The X-Files: Pilot")
However, Scully realized that with the X-Files, scientific answers weren't always readily available. During a stakeout assignment, Willis was shot, as was a bank robber, Warren Dupre. Dupre died but Willis survived, however, he was now showing some bizarre behavior. Mulder believed that Dupre had actually placed his soul into Willis' body, an idea Scully naturally couldn't believe. She was captured by Willis and shocked at his behavior and that his female accomplice believed him to be Dupre. A diabetic, Willis fell faint and his female accomplice revealed that she had been setting him up and demanded a million dollars from the FBI for Scully. Willis managed to get a gun and in the struggle, killed the accomplice, then died himself. Scully saw that his watch had frozen at the same time Willis had gone into cardiac arrest, Mulder telling her that it mean whatever she wanted it to mean. ("Lazarus")
Another case put the two partners at opposite ends. After an evening with her parents, Scully woke up to see her father in her living room. In a flash he was gone, seconds before the phone rang, Margaret telling Dana that her father had died of a coronary. A few days later, Scully was intrigued when a serial killer on death row claimed to have information on the disappearance of two college students...especially when the killer called her "Starbuck" and hummed the same song that had been played at her father's funeral. For once, Mulder believed in the more mundane explanation, that the killer had orchestrated the kidnapping to get himself a pardon. Scully pointed out the irony of Mulder not able to accept the killer had actual psychic gifts. When his prediction of Mulder being wounded in the raid to capture the kidnapper came true, Scully saw the killer, who related one of her childhood memories and said he'd let her speak to her father if he was pardoned. Scully lied about a pardon but the killer told her where the boy was anyway and gave Scully information that she used to survive. However, instead of going to the killer to speak to her father, Scully instead went to the injured Mulder and confessed that she "was afraid to believe." ("Beyond the Sea")
Scully's faith in rationality was further shaken by the unusual cases she and Mulder kept getting involved in. At one point, when Mulder was missing, Deep Throat, a mysterious man who had been giving Mulder information on various secret government projects, approached Scully. When Mulder was captured, Deep Throat sent Scully to get something that could save him. Going to a top-secret government site, Scully was shocked to find the body of what appeared to be an inhuman infant. Deep Throat insisted on making the exchange only to be shot and died in Scully's arms, whispering "Trust No One." Shortly afterward, Scully got a call from Mulder, informing her that the X-Files had been disbanded. ("The Erlenmeyer Flask")
Now assigned to the medical labs, Scully still helped Mulder with some unorthodox cases. In October of 1994, Duane Barry, a man who had claimed to have been abducted by aliens and vanished, kidnapped Scully. (Duane Barry, Ascension) A few weeks later, she was found unconscious in a hospital and woke up to find Mulder at her side. It was her belief in him that brought her back, she was convinced, although concerned that she had no memory of what had happened to her. ("One Breath") However, she did realize one thing: Her feelings for Mulder were no longer those for a partner or a friend. She loved Mulder but feared the dangers of getting into a relationship in such a line of work and kept silent.
The X-Files were reopened and Scully continued to work with Mulder. She still tried to find scientific explanations to their work but was starting to understand there was more to them than could be explained. She also began to see that Mulder was correct in that a government conspiracy seemed to be in the works to hide past alien activity on Earth, headed up by a mysterious cigarette smoker they nicknamed Cancer Man. She also had to put up with the rather annoying habit of being kidnapped on half their cases.
In May of 1995, Scully grew concerned when Mulder's behavior became more erratic than usual. She discovered that someone had been doping Mulder's water with a drug, causing his erratic behavior. Scully discovered Mulder about to kill renegade agent Alex Krychek in cold blood and shot him in the shoulder to stop him. She took the wounded Mulder to New Mexico, bandaging his wound and waiting for the drug to work its way out of his system. Mulder immediately went to check out what he believed to be a hiding place for government secrets and promptly vanished. ("Anasazi") While he was missing, Scully first attempted hypnotherapy to discover what had happened during her abduction but found herself resisting. At the funeral for Mulder's father, Scully met a Well-Manicured Man who warned her that things were getting more dangerous. Scully went with Skinner to Mulder's apartment, where, suspicious of whose side the AD was on, she pulled a gun on him, Skinner doing the same. ("The Blessing Way")Mulder burst in to interrupt things as he and Scully checked out more evidence of the government cover-up of alien activity. But Scully was in for a blow. Melissa had gone to her apartment and been shot, presumably by someone out for Dana, Mulder suspecting Krychek. Dana mourned not only her sister but also the waste of the years they had spent apart. However, it did strengthen her resolve to aid Mulder in his quest. ("Paperclip")
Scully tried to put her grief behind her and got back to work. When she and Mulder investigated a man who claimed to know how people died, Scully was confused when, after asking how she'd die, the man replied, "You don't." ("Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose") Another case had Scully learning from a mysterious informant of Mulder's, X, that her abduction was part of the government conspiracy, not aliens. ("Nisei," "731") Scully's long-time lapsed Catholicism was challenged when she came across a boy who showed signs of stigmatism. This led to a unique role reversal where Mulder thought it was all a fake while Scully wondered if this could be a true miracle. The boy nearly dying shook Scully, as did her continuing questions about her faith. ("Revelations") Tracking down a wandering Mulder to a small town a few weeks later, Scully came face to face with a sexy bug expert, Bambi Berenbaum, Scully surprised at her own jealousy at the reaction the sexy doctor elicited from Mulder. ("War of the Cophanges") An important case came when Mulder, seeking yet another secret government-alien connection, ran into Krychek yet again. As Mulder tried to seek out the truth, Scully believed she had found Melissa's killer who was working with Krychek. Scully let the man be arrested but he was later found dead in his jail cell. ("Apocrypha") By this point, Scully was letting her mind be more open to the unusual circumstances in her life while putting total trust in her partner.
In July of 1996, Scully's beliefs in science, faith and life were turned inside out. Mulder informed her about a series of beheadings that had been occurring in New York and believed an antiques owner named Russell Nash was responsible. The duo traveled to New York and followed Nash to Central Park. There, they were taken aback as Nash met another man and, after a few words, the two pulled out swords and began to duel it out right there. The agents moved in, guns drawn and ordered the two men to stop the fighting. In response, Nash's opponent pulled out a gun and promptly shot Mulder and Scully down. Collapsing from several bullet wounds, knowing she was dying, Dana Scully used her last breath to confess to Mulder that she loved him. The last thing she heard before she died was that he loved her as well. (Hellmouth New Beginnings)
As a medical doctor, Scully knew fatal wounds when she saw them and especially when she felt them. So she couldn't understand what was happening when she woke up moments later with blood over her clothing yet no wounds visible. She was both amazed and overjoyed to see Mulder alive as well with Nash standing by them, the headless body of his opponent a few yards away. Nash took the two to his apartment and told them the truth: He was actually Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod, born in the Highlands of Scotland nearly 500 years before and not only was he Immortal, but so were Mulder and Scully.
Scully had gone along with a lot the last few years but discovering that she was never going to die was a true shock. Connor (who had seen the sparks between the two agents) put them up in his guest room. The two talked about this sudden change as well as what they had said, Mulder assuring Scully that he felt as strongly for her as she did for him. Scully finally let loose the emotions she'd been hiding all this time and the two made love.
After training with Connor for a few weeks, the two returned to Washington and in September got into their first duel with a pair of young Immortals. The ending of the duel had the two agents make their beheading strokes at the same time, their swords touching on the backswing. Thus, the two were connected as the Quickening struck them, linking them together. In the aftermath, the two discovered another unexpected shift: They could literally hear each other's thoughts, making the connection between them even stronger. During Christmas week in Las Vegas (after a case Scully prefers to never discuss again), Mulder impulsively asked Scully to marry him right then and there. Taken aback by his suddenness but knowing he meant it, Scully said yes and the two were married in a small chapel just off the Strip. Even though they had to keep their relationship secret at work, the two were the picture of married bliss.
In late 1997, Mulder and Scully traveled to Hastings Bay, Massachusetts, to investigate a series of serial killings. Meeting another Immortal named Matthew Connors, the two discovered something Connor had never gotten around to telling them: That since Immortals were foundlings, their parents weren't actually their parents. Calling her mother, Scully learned that she had been switched at birth for the stillborn baby Margaret had given birth to. Scully had to push that revelation aside to give support to Alice Fairchild, the latest victim of the killer, who had become Immortal. ("First Time Out") It took a while but Dana did manage to understand her mother and her reasons for keeping it quiet.
In February 1998, Scully was astonished to see the videotape Mulder brought in of what appeared to be a blue demon being blown apart by a rocket launcher fired from off-screen. Traveling to Sunnydale, California, Mulder and Scully felt another Immortal at a shopping mall. Mulder recognized the man, Steve St Wolf, as Wanderer, someone he'd run into during a past case. Scully was surprised to see that St. Wolf's partner was her cousin, Frank, who had been something of the black sheep of the family after being cashiered out of the Navy on murder charges.
St Wolf was meeting with the woman Mulder and Scully were looking for: Buffy Summers, the Slayer, charged with protecting innocents from demons and vampires. Scully was naturally thrown to find out such creatures actually existed. She then had the important task of informing Buffy that she was Immortal and helping her deal with that, while also helping Buffy deal with her case of Post Traumatic Stress caused by Angel's losing his soul and her friend Theresa dying. She and Mulder had something important to deal with as well: St Wolf's revelation of a scroll that stated that the Game was a fraud. She and Mulder aided St Wolf and Buffy's friends in defeating a massive group of vampires in Sunnydale. (Hellmouth: New Beginnings)
In March of 1998, the duo returned to Sunnydale and received an unusual gift: a cat they named Tigger, who was actually a shapeshifting sabretooth tiger Guardian who formed a telepathic link with the duo. (A Kitty's Tale) Tigger got Scully into a bit of trouble a few months later when, while Mulder and Scully were out and Margaret was house-sitting, an intruder broke in, looking for papers he thought had been left behind. When Mulder and Scully returned, they found a dead body with several claw marks on it, an upset table, Tigger calmly sleeping on the easy chair and Margaret sitting on a couch and quietly asking Dana what the hell was going on. Forced to tell the truth about herself, Dana was amazed at how well her mother took the news about her Immortality. However, Scully was on the receiving end of some motherly outrage as Margaret was far more upset over the fact that she had no idea her only living daughter had been married for the last year.
In May, the two returned to Sunnydale, where Mulder promptly got beaten in a sparring session by Cordelia Chase and Willow Rosenberg. It turned out that they, like Jenny Calendar and Amy Madison, were now Amazons and Artemis herself came down to offer Dana a chance to join them. Taken aback at the offer, Dana somehow felt it was just what she wanted and agreed. Within minutes, she was a full Amazon, with enhanced strength and agility, fighting abilities and energy...as she proved to Mulder later that night. (How Buffy Got Her Sword)
In July, Mulder and Scully aided the group now calling itself Section Seven in an assault on a vampire cult trying to raise an ancient god in Los Angeles. During the battle, the God Shiva let it be known that Immortals were intended to be defenders of humanity. That news, combined with the growing knowledge of the Scroll, effectively ended the Game. In the aftermath, Mulder and Scully were surprised to learn that Skinner was their Watcher. Another surprise came when Cancer Man met the two in their office, informing them that he was actually working undercover for the Illuminati and was now more interested in protecting the duo. (Calling Out the Clan) During that adventure, Frank had been discovered by the military and a couple of lawyers from the JAG office, Navy Commander Harmon Rabb and Marine Major Sarah MacKenzie, stopped by the X-Files office...coming in as Mulder and Scully were spending some "leisure time" on their desk. Scully informed them that Frank was innocent but her statement didn't have quite the same effect given the unorthodox behavior both she and Mulder showed, which soon drove the two Marines away, convinced they were in the presence of a pair of raving lunatics. Mulder and Scully chuckled as they left, wondering how long it would be before Rabb and MacKenzie confessed that they loved each other. (Trial of Frank Scully)
Mulder and Scully further aided Steve in an attack on a Libyan madman planning to unleash a virus upon Earth. Returning to Sunnydale, Scully welcomed another sister into the Amazon fold, Andrea Parker. Looking back, Scully would admit that by this point, she was becoming a little overprotective of Mulder thanks to her Amazon status, feeling she had to protect him in battles due to the fact he wasn't her fighting equal. So she was more than a little surprised when Mulder, having spent an evening missing along with Rupert Giles, Xander Harris, Oz Green and Jarod Russell (all mates of Amazons) arrived and kissed her with amazing passion. The men then launched a surprise sparring on the Amazons, Mulder easily beating Scully in a duel. It turned out the men had been given equal empowerments by a faery named Robin Goodfellow in order to avoid a major disaster. Artemis wasn't happy with Robin's actions but was satisfied when Oberon made Robin take on human form in order to watch over the men. Scully was a bit pissed at Mulder beating her like that...but he more than made up for it that night by showing her how much energy he now had. (Slayer Run)
A few weeks later, Mulder and Scully were in Texas, aiding yet another Section-planned assault. During the gathering of Immortal fighters, the two came over to where Buffy was talking to a female Immortal. The woman turned and Dana was shocked to see Melissa alive and well. Melissa tried to stammer out an explanation but was immediately embraced by a tearful Scully and realized both were Immortal. Scully's joy at seeing Melissa alive was slightly tempered when she discovered that Melissa and her teacher, Teresa Santiago, were also lovers. (Endworld Assault) After the battle, Melissa and Teresa came to Dana and Mulder, both wanting to become Amazons. Artemis agreed and gave them her blessing. As they slept, both Artemis and Mulder made Dana face her problem with Melissa and Teresa as lovers and Scully tried to be more supportive of her sister. (Scooby Snacks: A Little Nepotism Goes a Long Way) That did take a slight blow when, during an investigation a few months later, the two discovered that Bambi the bug doctor was also Bambi the Immortal...and was putting the moves on both of them.
In December, Mulder and Scully got involved in their wildest mission yet with the Scoobies: A trip to an alternate reality to try and save another Sunnydale from vampires. During the mission, the two ran into their doubles, who had become Immortal when killed at the same time as Melissa. Also, the two were still only partners, who aided them in their fight against the vampires in Sunnydale. (Be Careful What You Wish For) A few weeks later, the duo learned from Robin, who had learned from the Genie, that their doubles were now together.
In January, 1999, Mulder and Scully traveled to Atlanta to aid the VCTF in a murder investigation. There, they discovered a teenage girl named Faith who turned out to be a new Slayer. Faith and her recently murdered Watcher had been lied to by the Council about the truth regarding Buffy. Mulder and Scully helped lead a defense on a vampire attack on the VCTF, letting the agents know about the existence of vampires and demons and helping Faith meet the rest of the Sunnydale group. (Faith's Story)
A few weeks later, Section was involved in a massive battle against an ancient Goddess. A result of this conflict was that the Amazon Nation was now reformed and much to her own surprise, Dana was named Crown Princess, set to take over if Queen Gabrielle was beheaded. (Daughters of the Moon)
In April, having been forced to kill two Immortals, Mulder and Scully were informed by what they believed was Krycek about a danger rising in Sunnydale. Going there, the two checked out Joyce Summers' house, finding the door opened and the corpse of a man in the living room. Joyce, Amy, Robin and Shaw entered and Shaw, hearing a sound behind her, skewered Scully with her sword. When she came back, Scully and Mulder were introduced to the other person with the group, Liam Danahure, a leprechaun and long-time friend of Robin's.
It turned out it wasn't Krycek at all who had warned Mulder and Scully but rather Shang Tsung, the shapeshifting sorcerer aide to the Emperor Shao Kahn. Kahn, with the aid of the dark faery Mider and the Irish witch Maeve, was planning to use the Scoobies as a sacrifice to merge his realm of Outworld with Earth. Liam, Robin, Shaw, Amy, Joyce, Mulder and Scully managed to escape to Ireland. There, they found aid with an old faery friend of Robin and Liam's, Aideen, her Immortal lover, Torc and the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog (Rhoan, Diedre, Angus and Ivar), a quartet of Immortal fighters. Mulder and Scully managed to get a little advice from the thousand-year married Rhoan and Diedre over how to keep a marriage going through the centuries.
The journey was marked by a battle at Castle Kells where the two angered Diedre by shooting up the place. At Tir Na Nog, they learned that they needed to go to the Faery Kingdom to get the Mystic Weapons needed for the battle. Outside, they were attacked by a group of Outworld ninjas and aided by a quintet Mulder nicknamed the Kombateers: Mortal Kombat champion Liu Kang, Special Forces commandos Sonya Blade and Jackson "Jax" Briggs, actor Johnny Cage and the ninja Sub-Zero.
The group traveled to the Faery Kingdom where Robin, Aideen, Liam, and Shaw fought against a group of monsters to get the Mystic Weapons. Trailing behind the group in the hallways, Mulder, Scully and Amy were caught by Maeve, who used a gem to take over their minds and had them literally walk into Outworld. Waking up in the special prison constructed for them, Scully was taken aback at Mulder's insults of Maeve, which often got him blasted.
Robin, Liam, Aideen, the Knights, the Kombateers and the forces of the three Faery Kingdoms came together to attack Outworld as Shaw freed the captives. Scully was thrown to realize that Mulder had been working with Xander to deliberately insult Maeve to drain the witch of power, a strategy no one else had hit on. The duo aided the Scoobies in fighting Outworld's forces until Joyce's smashing of the Eye used to form the portal sucked Outworld away. Afterward, the duo were still trying to deal with being helpless under Maeve's control. They wanted to get some of that tension out of them by agreeing to a sparring session against the Knights and the Kombateers. Mulder and Scully tried to start it off by attacking Rhoan and Diedre...and got their clocks cleaned along with the rest of the Scoobies as Robin had given the group his empowerment. (Immortal Kombat)
Mulder and Scully were back in Sunnydale only days later as the IRS were auditing Cordelia's father for failure to pay back taxes (his accountant and wife had absconded with the money.) Scully felt the need to support Cordelia during this time and offered to help her get a VAN scholarship to help her with college. (A Fighter's Worth) Scully still tries to keep a scientific eye toward things but has come to realize that science no longer has all the answers. But she will try to find them out.
Race: Human, Immortal
Description: Five feet, three inches tall with bright red hair. Although small in size, Scully is highly athletic (even before becoming an Amazon) and is strikingly beautiful yet carries herself with a professional air. She's shed some of her "ice queen" persona over the last few years, becoming more open and even showing a nice sense of humor. When on the job, she can be all business, especially with when doing an autopsy. Just like Mulder, she can be doggedly determined to find out the truth and has learned to trust her instincts. She has shed some of her long-bred skepticism and is more open to the unusual aspects of cases. Both her mother and sister have observed that being with Mulder has made Dana far more at ease than she's been in years. Being an Amazon has also given her a rise in her self-confidence and a connection that was lacking in her life. She realizes now that she was being a tad dominant before Mulder's empowerment and does feel a bit of guilt over that. She does have a high degree of intelligence and is just as sharp at seeing details as Mulder. She's also blessed with the patience needed to put up with Mulder and his often unorthodox ways and is one of the few people who can put Mulder in his place when needed (which, sadly, seems to be a lot) However, her love for Mulder is equaled only by his for her and Scully can always count on that as a constant in her life.
In the field, Scully is all business, with pressed suits and the occasional overcoat. Over the last few years, she's become more casual outside the workplace and has even started to show herself off a little more, which Mulder has naturally more than agreed with. While not as laid-back as Mulder, she enjoys a somewhat simple life while recognizing that it's best all decoration decisions about the home are left to her.Abilities (uncommon): Like all Immortals, can almost instantly heal from any wound, poison or disease and can come back from the dead. This has led to an increase in her energy, powered by the Quickenings she's taken. She can also feel the presence of another Immortal nearby. She shares a short-range telepathic link to both Mulder and Tigger. As an Amazon, Scully has enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, agility, stamina and fighting knowledge.
Abilities (learned): An expert medical examiner, Scully has pathology knowledge and her work on the X-Files has let her see a variety of new ways to use that. She was well trained by Connor on how to use a sword and her Amazon status has made her even more of an expert of hand weapons and guns.
Current Status: Citizen of the United States. Graduate of the University of Maryland with Bachelor's Degrees in medicine, forensic sciences, and pathology. Federal Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, assigned to the X-Files division. Former teacher of forensic sciences at the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia. Member of the Board of Directors of VAN, Ltd. Crown Princess of the reborn Amazon nation. She still helps Mulder investigating cases but is willing to drop everything to help both Steve and her Amazon sisters.
Proficient weapons: Katana, well trained in its use by Connor MacLeod. Also, uses the standard issue FBI Smith and Wesson 9mm. Has also become versed in hand to hand weapons and small-arms in use with Section.
Current Beliefs: A lapsed Catholic, Scully now pays tribute to Artemis through prayers and a shrine in her home. She feels a bond with her Amazon sisters, especially her actual sister, Melissa, the two growing closer than ever. Scully is as determined as Mulder to find the truth. The one belief that truly rises above all others though is her love for her husband and the trust she has in him.
What is the most important thing you can say about this character? If Mulder was the heart of "The X-Files" Scully was its soul. A woman who was highly intelligent, a true professional and was slowly coming around to the fact that science did not have the answer to everything. Her skepticism in the early years was intriguing but her resistance to learning the truth was even more. Before she was pulled down by foolish plots and the complicated mythology, Scully was a woman who honestly didn't know how sexy she was...which just made her all the more appealing.
Scully has come around to a lot in the Wandererverse, which has made her even more intriguing a character. Seeing the proof of aliens, vampires, demons and more has forced her to drop her skepticism and accept the odd things in this life. Of course, being an Immortal Amazon does help. Scully still prides herself on being a professional but is proud of her Amazon status, recognizing the connection she feels to a higher power that she didn't have before. It's made her more loose and fun loving. Combined with her love for Mulder and the connection to her family, she has managed to get herself far more of a life than she had on the show.
Indeed, one vast improvement is that Scully's life, often considered an afterthought on the show, has been given more focus and dimension. Scully still tries to consider things logically but is no longer as hidebound by "scientific laws" to throw out conclusions. Most importantly, she sees herself and Mulder as important halves of the same whole, her keeping him grounded, him helping her see what she sometimes still misses. With that connection so strong, Dana Scully has finally come into her own as a strong character, a fighter for what she now knows is the truth and will stay with that fight, no matter how long it takes.
